February 2, 2004

On February 2, 2004, God blessed us with a bouncing baby boy. Jared Keith Powell, weighing in at 8 lbs 3oz. Jared was born on Jeremy's birthday, so I have 2 Ground Hogs! Jared was born at Pattie A Clay but was transported shortly after delivery to UK Children's Hospital. Jared received a skull fracture and experienced a mild stoke during delivery and was seizing and the Pediatrician on call at Pattie A Clay made the decision to send him to Lexington. The next 10 days of our life seemed so long. I can remember the day the Doctor came in and asked me when I wanted to take Jared home...I told her today! She said she believed she could make that happen...I was never so excited in all my life. My Baby Boy was going home. Thanks to prayers and God working miracles, Jared doesn't have any major health problems.

Here is a look back of February 2, 2004
I must have been feeling pretty good!

This would have been the first picture I saw of Jared. I saw a small glimpse of him at Pattie A Clay, then he was taken to UK.

Jeremy got to feed him his first bottle since I was still in Richmond.

Jeremy and Heather

In August 2010, Jeremy and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary, however, we have been together almost 14! We meet the fall after our senior year of high school through a mutual friend, Leah. We dated 2 years and was engaged 2 months shy of 2 years before we tied the knot! I feel like God put Jeremy in my path for a reason. He has been with me through some of the most difficult times of my life. I understand more and more every day why I love him so much.

Here is a picture of us when we first go engaged.

Our First Blog

Okay, many of us have a facebook or myspace account, but more and more are starting to BLOG, or, this is new to me and my family. I have a few friends that have blogs and I really enjoy them. I was telling Jeremy about reading Heather Wilson's blog about her cute little Allie and he said "Why don't you do that?" so, I thought what the heck...I'll give it a try. I must stay, I was a little confused and still am....I guess I am going to have to take some lessons. But here goes!
